Passionate Behavioral Consultant with an Advocate's Mentality


Heather is a Behavioral Consultant with an advocate’s mentality, who has experience working among diverse populations. She has a connector communication style, which is personal and interactive. She believes having the ability to hear individuals as they need to be heard is a key factor in good consultation, and she is extremely dedicated to always doing better the next day.

Heather began her educational career at Ivy Tech Community College where she attained her associate of science degree in human services. Heather then graduated from Trine University with a bachelor of science degree in psychology with a concentration in addiction, and later earned her master of science degree in general psychology from Purdue University Global, where she was also inducted into The International Honor Society in Psychology, Psi Chi. Heather was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success and has honed the leadership skills learned in such program to help guide her person-centered approach to working with others. Heather was also a graduate of the inaugural class of the The League's Inclusion Institute's Leadership Academy of 2023 where she learned key components to advocating for individuals with disabilities at the state level. Heather has now continued her journey by being accepted into Greater Fort Wayne's Leadership Program of 2024, the 42nd cohort. Heather was furthermore, included in Marquis's Who's Who in 2024.

Heather has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience working with mental health disorders such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline, and addiction, as well as developmental disorders such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and intellectual disabilities.

Before becoming a behavioral consultant, Heather worked at Otis R. Bowen Center, where she worked with her clients in the home setting, community setting, and school setting, working alongside other providers to ensure care was being provided appropriately across all lines. She also has experience as a Registered Behavioral Technician, where she utilized applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy while working with verbal and non-verbal children on the autism spectrum. Heather now holds a Regional Director position, where she assists other behavior consultants in providing gold-standard services to individuals on the BDS Waiver. Heather is further pursing a doctoral degree in Community Research and Action.

Heather is associated with the Indiana Behavior Association (IBA), American Psychological Association (APA), Association for Psychological Science (APS), Society for Community Research and Action, and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
